Just get a Moccamaster. If it's just you, try an Aeropress. Cheap machines are not great: try local used marketplaces for a Bonavita or Oxo. Chemex is for the patient. Seat yourself on a Toto Drake or just put up with the Glacier Bay builder special. Sadly, there's no budget-friendly middle ground between good and, well, you know. Get an iPhone 16 or a Google Pixel 9. Get the Pro models of these if you're all about the camera. On a budget? iPhone SE or Pixel 8A. 8bitdo Ultimate on Windows and and Switch. On Mac, the 2.4G version. The same brand is good for retrogaming, e.g. SN30 Pro. Consoles come with the best already; just get more like them. The 8bitdo wired model is good and inexpensive, for Windows. Arcade/fight sticks are another matter. On Windows or Switch, get the 8bitdo Arcade Stick. The 13-inch MacBook Air is more than good enough now that 16GB of RAM comes as standard, though if you have any storage needs at all beyond the basics you might want to upgrade from the 256GB. If you want something less expensive, get the Uperfect 14" 2k Portable Monitor (At 16", the CNBANAN 2.5k) which has the bonus of being 3:2 and perfect for retro gaming. For basic black and white laser printing, just get any old Brother model. For inkjets, there's Epson. I like Workforce Pro in the office and EcoJet at home. Artists and photographers printing on fancy paper or canvas or fooling around with sublimation dyes can't go far wrong with a SureColor. Crafters, though, are religious about the Canon TS9521C. You don't get a dog or a cat. They get you. Go to your local rescue center. If you're just curious, get the inexpensive Wacom One. If you know what you're doing, just get a Cintiq. That said, the competition—the Huion Kamvas and XP-Pen—are half the price and good enough. The latest iPad Pro is in a league of its own, yes, but artists must accept workflow limitations and platform-specific apps. Non-display tablet? Intuos. Just get the Apple iPad. The iPad Pro offers excess power, up to 13" of OLED display and the best Apple Pencil, but if you need to do normal computer things, run standard desktop apps or play nice with other people's workflows, get the Microsoft Surface Pro. Get the Samsung S90 OLED TV. It's inexpensive and got great reviews. Take a poke around in Best Buy's returns corner for something by Hisense for the cheapest deals worth taking. The Panasonic FlashXPress is a fantastic if small toaster oven, loved for its simplicity, retrofuturistic styling and the fact it's not much bigger than a pop-up toaster.
